Aatrox Wild Rift Build Recommendation
Here are Item Build Recommendations that works on this champion and which are the best build for Aatrox Wild Rift in this patch.
Tanky Darkin
In our Wild Rift Aatrox Guide, the first build route features items that grants attack damage, health, armor, magic resistance and ability haste. These items allows him to deal significant damage over time, while being tanky. To further enhance his sustenance, he can heal himself using Death’s Dance passive, and you can also increase your healing using Spirit Visage.
Bruiser
The second build on the other hand is quite similar to the first one, but this time, we will add the Divine Sunderer. Aside from the armor reduction from the Black Cleaver, Aatrox can also benefit from the Spellblade passive of Divine Sunderer allowing him to deal damage equal to a percentage of their max health. As a baron laner, it is likely for him to encounter tank or bruiser champs, so this will come in handy. Overall, this item build is focused on increasing his damage while making sure he gets to survive each skirmishes.
Runes for Aatrox in Wild Rift
Conqueror is deemed to be the perfect keystone for Aatrox as he can easily stack it up with his chains of attacks, allowing him to benefit from the bonus adaptive damage. Similarly, the additional omnivamp will be useful and this will enable him to heal even more. For runes, he can opt for Triumph, Last Stand, Demolish or Triumph, Titan and Genius.
Spells
In our Wild Rift Aatrox Guide, here are Aatrox’s best champion spells that you can equip on him.
Aatrox does not have enough mobility except for his third ability which is not enough either. He is mostly positioned in the baron lane and as we know, sidelanes are more vulnerable to ganks due to the length of the lane. Hence, it will be necessary for him to take flash.
For Aatrox, he is likely to encounter duels especially as a baron laner. Having that said, Ignite can be helpful as it will aid him in defeating his targets and it will also reduce the incoming healing on his opponents.
Skill Order
In our Wild Rift Aatrox guide, we highly recommend upgrading The Darkin Blade among the rest as it is his one of his main sources of damage and cc. This should be followed by Umbral Dash for the physical vamp. Infernal Chains on the other hand should be maxed last. Meanwhile. World Ender or his ultimate should be enhanced as soon as it is available.
Abilities
Enhances his next attack every 24 seconds to deal bonus physical damage equal to 5% of the target’s maximum health and heals himself for the same amount. Deathbringer Stance’s cooldown is reduced by 3 seconds when Aatrox hits a champion or large monster with an attack or ability.
Max 100 damage against monsters.
Healing reduced to 50% against minions.
Swings his giant blade, dealing 96 physical damage. This ability can be cast 2 more times, with each cast dealing 25% more damage.
Enemies hit on the sweetspot will be knocked airborne for 0.25s and dealt 60% bonus damage.
Sends a chain dealing 90 physical damage to the first enemy hit and slowing them by 25% for 1.5 seconds.
If a champion or a large monster remains within the impact area after 1.5 seconds, they will be dragged back to the center and take the same damage again.
Deals double damage to minions.
Passive: Aatrox gains 21% physical vamp against champions.
Active: Dashes forward. This resets Aatrox’s normal attack. Usable while casting other abilities.
Unleashes his demonic form for 10 seconds, gaining 20% attack, 30% increased healing and 60% decaying Movement Speed. During this time, Umbral Dash’s Physical Vamp is increased by 50%.
World Ender’s duration is extended by 5 seconds with a takedown, up to 10 extra seconds.
Abilities Analysis
Passive | Deathbringer Stance
Aatrox gains a bar just right below his HP bar. Once filled this will enhance his next attack to deal bonus physical damage equal to a percentage of target’s maximum health. That said, it is great against tanks. Similarly, he’ll get heals from it.
Make sure to use this against champions to reduce its cooldown.
Q | The Darkin Blade
The Darkin Blade is Aatrox’s bread-and-butter. He swings his giant blade three times, each one having similar damage but different attack style and range. Hitting them on the sweetspot (as indicated by the indicator), will have them knocked up. It is also an AOE skill, so you can knock up multiple enemies at once.
W | Infernal Chains
Aatrox throws a chain which deals physical damage. If it manages to attach to the target, this will pull them back to the center of the impact area, dealing the same damage.
This works for large monsters and champions. However, you must properly aim this one as it is easy to miss and does not pass through units. Point-blank hit is also preferable. Pairing this will your darkin blade provides good results as this will keep them in place.
E | Umbral Dash
Passive: Gains physical vamp against champions = more healing.
Active: Dashes forward which also resets your normal attack. Umbral Dash can be used in between abilities. Umbral Dash is short, hence it can also pass through thin walls.
R | World Ender
Releases his demonic form increasing his attack, healing and decaying movement speed. Physical vamp is also increased.
Aatrox Early Game Guide
Aatrox does not have enough mobility in his kit. That said, in our Wild Rift Aatrox Guide, it is optimal for him not to extend as this will make him more vulnerable to ganks. During duels, make the most out of your first ability and enhanced auto from your passive to easily win it.
Post-level 6, he can opt to splitpush when there’s no objective to apply pressure to other lanes.
Aatrox Late Game Guide
In our Wild Rift Aatrox late game guide, it is recommended for him to stick with his team and seek opportunities. Teamfights during this time will be more crucial so it is suggested not to commit to a teamfight when your ultimate is offline.
During skirmishes, try to focus on key targets such as the carries. This will zone them out, and if your damage is enough, you might even get a kill.
Synergies
For our Wild Rift Aatrox Guide, we highly recommend using Aatrox with the following champions as they synergize well with him.
Aatrox works well with champions who can setup or initiate a teamfight preferably with an AOE crowd control. And this time, we’re specifically talking about Malphite. Malphite can immediately chime in using his unstoppable ultimate, knocking up everyone caught it in. This allows Aatrox to have a space where he can attack targets and unleash his chains of attack with less chance of getting interrupted.
Great junglers who can gank early and has a great cc also makes a good contribution. Scaling and gaining an early lead with Aatrox is essential as he usually falls off the in the late game. That said, you’ll need someone like Vi.
All Aatrox Wild Rift Counter Champions
In this section, we’ll specifically show champions that can easily counter Aatrox in Wild Rift.
If you are using Aatrox, consider banning Irelia as she is his hardest counter. Irelia counters him in every way as she has better scaling than Aatrox. She’s also stronger especially at level 1 or if her passive is at full stack.
Another champ that is similar to Irelia is Fiora. Aside from her damage and passive, Fiora has high mobility which means she can easily evade your first ability. On top of it, she can parry your attacks.
