Ornn Wild Rift Build Recommendation

Here are Item Build Recommendations that works on this champion and which are the best build for Ornn Wild Rift in this patch.

The Great Ram

Thornmail Sunfire Aegis Stoneplate Enchant Frozen Heart Amaranth Twinguard Abyssal Mask

This item build for Ornn Wild Rift consists of Armor, Magic Resist, and Health items enabling Ornn to soak up as much damage for the team while also dealing damage in the long run. At your first back when opposing a physical damage champion, take bramble vest first to gain an advantage when trading. Sunfire Aegis will help you deal more damage by its AoE, and building Frozen Heart makes the enemy’s normal attack speed to decrease, thus resulting in low damage output versus Ornn. Thornmail adds up more to the damage and will give you an advantage when laning with a physical damage enemy champion. Knowing that Sunfire Aegis and Thornmail deal magic damage, having an Abyssal Mask can help increase their damage. Amaranth Twinguard for more armor, magic resist, and tenacity while in combat.

The Demi-God Ornn

Sunfire Aegis Thornmail Stoneplate Enchant Amaranth Twinguard Force Of Nature Frozen Heart

This is an alternative Ornn Wild Rift build that you can pick up for him. When opposing a magic damage-heavy champion, Force of Nature would be your best choice together with the upgraded boots, Mercury’s Treads. Magic Resistance helps mitigate the damage when laning against an enemy that deals magic damage.

Runes for Ornn in Wild Rift

Grasp of the Undying increases his ability to survive team fights and gives him the confidence to engage in and start team fights. Alternatively, Aftershock would also be a good option given that Ornn has the power to immobilize foes.

Triumph gives Ornn survivability after eliminating an enemy in a team fight enabling him to fight more. Weakness increases Ornn’s damage potential because, as we know, it has many immobilizing abilities, which mark enemies and increase damage.

Bone Plating helps Ornn take less damage as he initiates a fight, while Conditioning gives him armor and magic resistance as the game progresses, making team fights with Ornn much easier as he soaks up all the damage from the enemy team.

Finally, because of the damage it deals to the enemy tower, Demolish allows Ornn to be a good split pusher. Pathfinder, on the other hand, increases Ornn’s movement speed, giving him an advantage when initiating team fights.

In our Ornn Wild Rift Guide, here are the best champion spells that you can equip on him.

Having Flash is essential for champions, regardless of whether they have any kind of mobility or not. It helps Ornn to close the gap and have the element of surprise when engaging the enemy.

Ignite is a viable option for Ornn to finish off enemies that are very evasive.

Skill Order

Ornn in Wild Rift can start by taking Volcanic Rupture first to have the potential to poke enemies, thus having a slight advantage when trading. You can then take Bellows Breath for additional damage when clearing waves. Take Searing Charge third to enable Ornn to use his knock-up combo, which consists of having Ornn cast his Volcanic Rupture first, then Bellows Breath and one normal attack to deal additional burst damage while waiting for the pillar to spawn from his Volcanic Rupture, lastly after the spawning of the pillar, you can then use his Searing Charge to have enemies knocked-up in the air. Take note that you have to prioritize taking his ultimate, Call of the Forge God whenever there is a chance to level it up.

Infernal Chains

Ornn gains an additional bonus Armor and Magic Resistance from all sources. Ornn can spend gold to forge non-consumable items anywhere. Additionally, he can create masterwork items for himself and for his allies.

Infernal Chains

Ornn slams the ground, sending out a fissure dealing damage and slowing enemies hit. After a small delay, a magma pillar forms at the end location.

Infernal Chains

Ornn advances, breathing fire. Enemies hit by the final gout of flame become Brittle.

Infernal Chains

Ornn charges, dealing damage to enemies he passes through. If Ornn collides with terrain while charging, the impact creates a shockwave around him which deals damage and knocks up enemies.

Infernal Chains

Ornn summons a massive elemental at a location which travels toward him with increasing speed. Enemies run over by the elemental take damage, are slowed and are made Brittle. Ornn can recast the ability to charge into the elemental, redirecting it in the direction he hits it, causing the elemental to affect any enemies it runs over to be knocked up, dealing the same damage and re-applying Brittle.

Abilities Analysis

Innate Passive

Ornn increases his Armor bonus armor, Magic resistance bonus magic resistance and Health bonus health by 10% from all sources, further increased by 4% each time he upgrades a Mythic item into a Masterwork item.

  • LIVING FORGE: Ornn may forge non-consumable items from anywhere on the field and is also given a Forge Menu with his recommended goods to be made. Channeling Forging takes 4 seconds and is Silence stopped if Ornn receives damage from opposing Champion champions or Turret turrets, temporarily deactivating Living Forge. Gold is only spent when the forge is finished.
  • MASTER CRAFTSMAN: When Ornn achieves level 13, each mythic item he owns or purchases is automatically enhanced. Ornn can also improve one of an allied champion’s mythic items by selecting them within the 600 range at each level after 13 (levels 14, 15, 16, and 17, omitting 18). Each MASTERWORK item has approximately 1000 gold worth of extra stats.

Wild Rift Ornn Master Craftsman

Ornn sends a fissure in the specified direction, dealing physical damage and slowing enemies by 40% for 2 seconds. The fissure ends at the maximum range or 200 units behind the first enemy champion struck, whichever comes first. After 1.125 seconds, a magma pillar erupts, knocking back enemies but not terrain and becoming impassable terrain for 4 seconds. This is also useful when you want to interrupt an enemy’s channeling ability.

Wild Rift Ornn Volcanic Rupture

Ornn advances 90 units in the direction of the target over 0.75 seconds, gaining immunity to crowd control and becoming unable to act for the duration. During the march, he exhales a cone of fire in front of him, dealing 0.15 points of magic damage every 0.15 seconds to nearby enemies. The final gout of flame has a three-second duration of Brittle. Additionally, Ornn can also evade a hard crowd control ability when you time it right with this ability.

Wild Rift Ornn Bellows breath

Ornn charges in the specified direction, inflicting physical damage on enemies he encounters and stopping upon impact with the terrain. If Ornn collides with terrain during the charge, he creates a shockwave that knocks nearby enemies back and stuns them for 1.25 seconds, dealing the same damage if they were not already struck by the charge. The shockwave obliterates the pillar created by Volcanic Rupture and partially obliterates terrain created by enemy champions.

Wild Rift Ornn Searing Charge

This ability is very beneficial for Ornn when engaging or initiating fights.

ACTIVE: When Ornn blows his horn, a lava elemental is conjured at maximum range from the target direction and stampedes with increasing speed in the direction of his casting position. As it moves through enemies, the elemental deals magic damage to them and slows them for two seconds.

While the elemental is active, Call of the Forge God can be recast after 1.25 seconds.

Wild Rift Ornn Call of the forge god

RECAST: Ornn Dash dashes in the direction of the target, but not through terrain. When he collides with an elemental, he causes it to stampede in the same direction. The elemental deals the same damage as it passes through enemies, knocking them up and stunning them for 1 second, which is reduced to 0.5 second after the first enemy champion hits.
Brittle is applied to targets for 3 seconds per pass and can only affect enemies once. As it travels, the elemental briefly grants sight along its path.

This is very beneficial for Ornn when engaging in team fights. If you layer enough crowd control and damage with his ultimate, enemies will have a hard time moving, thus resulting in a kill.

Ornn Early Game Guide

Ornn’s early game in League of Legends is generally focused on farming and surviving in the laning phase rather than aggressive plays. Ornn, a tanky top-lane champion, wants to reach his power spikes and help his team in team fights.

Ornn’s first priority is farming minions and gold. He can buy key items and scale into the mid- and late-game where he excels. Ornn’s abilities, especially his Q, Volcanic Rupture can clear waves. Ornn’s passive, Living Forge, lets him upgrade his team’s items and gain stats while trading. This passive boosts his resistances and tenacity, giving him an edge in sustained trades. Ornn’s early game is weaker than that of other top-lane champions. He struggles against early game damage and mobility champions. Ornn players should farm and play defensively until they get Call of the Forge God. Matchups and enemy junglers affect Ornn’s early game. Avoiding ganks and maintaining safe laning requires proper warding and map awareness. To gain an advantage, communicate with your team, especially the jungler. Ornn’s early game is about surviving and farming efficiently to reach his power spikes and become a powerful tank and utility provider.

Ornn Late Game Guide

Ornn excels as a tank and team fighter in Wild Rift’s late game. As the game progresses and Ornn gains more items, he becomes a powerful frontline presence who can initiate fights to help his team. Ornn’s passive, Living Forge, allows him to upgrade teammates’ items late game. This gives his team an advantage in team fights by boosting their stats and items. Upgraded items improve Ornn’s allies’ damage, survivability, and utility in battle.

Call of the Forge God, Ornn’s ultimate ability, changes team fights. It can start fights, catch enemies, and disrupt enemy positioning. Your team can engage priority targets or crowd control after a successful ultimate. Ornn’s tankiness helps late game. He can protect his team with his Living Forge resistances and items.

Ornn’s Volcanic Rupture and Searing Charge can disrupt the enemy team and set up kills for his teammates. His Q and E can knock enemies up.

Ornn’s late game includes utility, tankiness, and initiation. In team fights, his upgrades to teammates’ items, crowd control, and durability make him a powerful late-game force.

For our Ornn Wild Rift Guide, we highly recommend using him with the following champions as they synergize well with him.

Kayn and Ornn can work together effectively in team compositions. Ornn’s crowd control and tankiness synergize well with Kayn’s damage output and mobility, while Ornn’s item upgrades can further enhance Kayn’s power. Their combination can create a strong frontline presence and contribute significantly to team fights throughout the game.

Rengar and Ornn have excellent synergy in Wild Rift. Ornn’s crowd control abilities, such as his Q and R, set up perfect opportunities for Rengar to strike with his burst damage. Additionally, Ornn’s item upgrades significantly enhance Rengar’s effectiveness, amplifying his burst potential and survivability. Together, they make a deadly duo in team fights, providing engage potential, protection, and objective control. Their coordination can lead to devastating results for the enemy team.

All Ornn Wild Rift Counter Champions

In this section, we’ll specifically show champions that can easily counter Ornn in Wild Rift.

Singed is considered a counter to Ornn in the top lane due to his ability to disrupt Ornn’s effectiveness. Singed’s poison trail and mobility make it difficult for Ornn to engage and trade effectively. Singed’s split pushing potential also puts pressure on Ornn, forcing him to respond and potentially creating advantages for Singed’s team in other areas of the map. Overall, Singed’s playstyle and kit make him a strong counterpick against Ornn.

Fiora has the tools to counter Ornn’s strengths and dominate the lane thanks to her kit and abilities. Duelist’s Dance is Fiora’s passive ability that allows her to easily parry Ornn’s abilities, reducing his damage and preventing him from engaging effectively. Furthermore, Fiora’s Lunge can be used to quickly dash around Ornn and take advantage of his immobility. Riposte, her W, can completely negate Ornn’s crowd control and turn it against him. Fiora’s high damage output and true damage from her passive and ultimate, combined with her ability to take down turrets quickly, make her a strong split pusher and threat to Ornn’s team. Fiora’s kit and ability to outplay Ornn’s engage make her a formidable counter pick in the laning phase and beyond.
