]]>Wild Rift offers an exciting and competitive environment for players to showcase their skills, such as the Wild Rift ranks. One of the critical aspects of Wild Rift is its ranking system, which allows players to progress and compete against others of similar skill levels. However, when you are a solo queue player just starting Wild Rift, you may wonder what the Wild Rift ranks are. So, in this article, we’ll tackle each rank division, also discussing what types of players are in these ranks.
Wild Rift Ranks are designed to provide a fair and balanced gameplay experience for all players. Each rank, except for Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger, is divided into four divisions: IV, III, II, and I, in ascending order. To rank up, players need to earn ranked marks by winning ranked mode games. Once they have enough ranked marks, they must complete a promotion series to advance to the subsequent division or tier.
In Wild Rift ranked mode, there are currently 11 ranks:
You can access Ranked from level 10 and no minimum champion is required.
Iron is the lowest of the Wild Rift ranks, where new players start. These players are typically still learning the basics of the game, such as laning, team fighting, and objective control. Additionally, players in this elo, especially in the solo queue, should start learning to communicate effectively with their teammates.
Bronze players have a better understanding of the game mechanics than Iron players, but they may still need help applying them consistently in matches. These players often make mistakes such as overextending, not warding enough, and not communicating with their team.
Silver players have a good understanding of the game mechanics and can typically apply them consistently in matches. However, they may still need to correct some things, such as incorrect positioning or not drafting the best team composition. Moreover, Silver has a more refined design than Iron and Bronze regarding ranks icon.
Gold players are good players with a deeper understanding of the game mechanics than the lower WR ranks. However, they may still need to correct mistakes, such as not playing aggressively or adapting to the enemy team’s strategy. Moreover, this rank in LoL Wild Rift is where most players are playing, making it difficult for players in this rank to climb.
Platinum players are excellent players who can consistently win matches at a high level. They can make quick decisions and react quickly to changes in the game. Platinum players can adapt to the enemy team’s strategy and exploit their weaknesses.
Emerald players are the top 0.5% of players in Wild Rift. They are incredibly great at playing WR and have a deeper understanding of the game than its lower WR ranks. Emerald players can consistently win matches against even the most challenging opponents, but they still need to improve.
Diamond players are the top 0.2% of players in Wild Rift. They are the most skilled players in the game and can win matches against even the best opponents consistently. One thing to get to higher Wild Rift ranks in this elo is to watch professionals play.
Master players are the top 0.01% of players in Wild Rift. They are the best players and can win matches against any opponent. It is also where players start to show an elite understanding of the game mechanics and can apply them consistently in matches at a very high level.
Grandmaster players are the top 50 players in each region. They are the most elite players in the game and are able to win matches against any opponent. However, to reach Grandmaster, you need to earn enough Ranked Marks. Ranked Marks are awarded for winning ranked matches and are deducted for losing ranked matches.
Challenger players are at the top in each region but still below the Sovereign Rank. They are also the absolute best players in Wild Rift and can win matches against any opponent. Players can reach the Challenger rank by earning enough Victory Points. These are awarded for winning ranked matches and are deducted for losing ranked matches. Players must maintain several Victory Points to stay in the Challenger rank.
Sovereign is the highest rank in Wild Rift, above Challenger. It was added in Season 10 to provide a more challenging goal for the top players in the game. To reach Sovereign, players must earn 100 Ranked Marks in Challenger. Once they reach Sovereign, their Ranked Marks will continue to increase, and they will compete on a regional leaderboard that resets once daily.
In conclusion, Wild Rift ranks are pivotal in determining a player’s skill level and standing within the game’s community. As players progress through the ranks, they unlock various rewards and earn recognition for their achievements. However, apart from this rank system, there is the Legendary Rank, the highest and above the Wild Rift ranks. Check out this Wild Rift Legendary Rank article for more information about its system and more.

]]>Finding your Riot ID before your Wild Rift change name is also essential. Your Riot ID is your global username across all Riot Games titles. If you change your Riot ID in Wild Rift, it will also be altered in League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra, and any other Riot Games titles you play.
Here are the steps for finding your Riot ID in-game.
However, you can also find your Riot ID without opening Wild Rift. Players can view their Riot IDs just by logging into the Riot Games’ website, where you can manage your Riot Account. Also, let’s move on to the steps if you are still unsure and confused about how to change IGN in Wild Rift.
The steps on Wild Rift change name can be confusing, especially when you do it only on your mobile phone. However, these steps are pretty simple, and you will have your IGN changed if you follow each single one of them.
Before you change your IGN in Wild Rift, you must choose carefully, as players can only change their name once a month. However, due to League of Legends summoner names swapping into Riot IDs, IGN changes’ frequency may soon differ.
Moreover, here are the steps on how to change IGN in Wild Rift.
However, players must still abide by the rules regarding changing Riot IDs. So, please select and decide on a fair name so that Riot Games will not take it down. Moreover, if you haven’t noticed by now, it is also worth noting that Riot ID and Wild Rift names are the same. By changing your Riot ID in the Account Management section, you can change your IGN across all Riot Games titles, such as Valorant, League of Legends PC, and Wild Rift.
As mentioned earlier, the Wild Rift change name is free and will only cost players time. It means that players can change their IGN every 30 days for now. However, we did say “for now” because Riot Games is changing its rules regarding summoner names. To give context, Riot Games is transitioning Summoner Names to Riot IDs, originally costing players either an in-game currency or RP (real money). This change is further explained on their website. Additionally, this change will take effect starting November 20, 2023, so change your IGN ASAP if you plan to change it.
That’s the end of our Wild Rift change name tutorial. Head to Summoner’s Rift and show off your new IGN with friends and opponents. However, you can look at our controller guide if you’re having difficulties playing on mobile, especially with sweaty hands. In this guide, we tackle each step and method of connecting a controller or gamepad to use in Wild Rift.

]]>League of Legends: Wild Rift continues the pursuit to mimic League of Legends PC’s ranked system. Previously, position preference was implemented, enabling players to assign themselves to roles they are most comfortable at.
Season 6 marked the release of Legendary Queue solely for high-ranked and highly competitive ones seeking further challenges. It is a solo-only ranked mode that favors players who are either searching for stronger foes or solo players that are sick of facing off against a 5-man pre-made team. Similar to victims of the unfair matchmaking system that sometimes pair them up with players at least two ranked tiers away from them.
It is also essential to note that playing in Wild Rift Legendary Ranked mode does not affect your MMR in normal ranked mode and vice versa. Similarly, it has separate leaderboards.
Unlock Legendary Queue by first reaching Diamond rank and having at least 20 champions in your pool. Unfortunately, Wild Rift Legendary Ranked is not for everyone. Unlike the usual Ranked mode, Legendary Ranked only caters to solo players, making it impossible to queue with friends. The draft pick is similar to a regular ranked game, providing each player the permission to ban a champion of their choice. However, players’ names will be temporarily replaced in-game by a codename.
On the other hand, there is no need to worry about losing access to LQ after getting demoted to Emerald, as it stays with you throughout the current season. It would be impossible, however to play Legendary Ranked after dropping down below Diamond after a season reset.
Unlike the standard PVP or ranked game, Legendary Ranked is only available for a limited time per day. Legendary Queue opens up depending on your region.
REGION | WEEKDAY | WEEKEND |
America | 12:00–23:59 PDT | 12:00–23:59 PDT |
China | 18:00–23:59 CST | 12:00–23:59 CST |
Asia | 12:00–23:59 CST | 12:00–23:59 CST |
Europe | 12:00–23:59 CEST | 12:00–23:59 CEST |
Make sure to take note of these to avoid missing it.
Legendary Queue in Wild Rift consists of six exclusive tiers, which are as follows:
TIER | LEGENDARY POINTS |
Warrior IV-I | 0-799 |
Commander IV-I | 800-1599 |
Guardian IV-I | 1600-2399 |
Vanquisher IV-I | 2400-3199 |
Immortal IV-I | 3200-3999 |
Legend | 4000+ |
Each tier comprises four divisions or sub-tier, except for Legend, which only has one tier to itself. Jump from one division to another by obtaining 200 Legendary Points. Legend players, on the other hand, accumulate points with no limit. Legendary Points pretty much worked the same way as the previous Victory Points recently removed in the current patch. Players will be rewarded or knocked off of Legendary Points at the end of each ranked match, depending on their performance.
Players will commence having 800 points at Commander IV and earn more from it. Maintaining your current rank is crucial at this point to avoid Point Decay. Point Decay occurs for players in Vanquisher IV and above after becoming inactive for seven days. A deduction of 40 LP will be implemented for each week of inactivity. Prior to it, a notification will alert you about the risk of point decay. Similarly, the system will show you how much LP you’ve lost.
Climbing and achieving a higher rank on the Legendary Queue does not end there. Your celebration is accompanied by multiple rewards easily obtained by winning matches and promotions. Ranked rewards are exclusive to the current season and will be replaced.
These include Rank Icon Border, Rank Border, Bauble, Ability Augment, Recall, Icon Border, and Banner.
Now that you are equipped with knowledge about the new ranked mode, let’s start putting your skills to the ultimate test, shall we? Start your climb towards Legend, or Diamond if you haven’t unlocked it yet with the help of our Wild Rift Tier List, providing an idea on which champion to choose or ban for the current patch.

]]>Now, the question is, what about our controller buddies? Would it be possible to rank up in the game with a Wild Rift Controller? Yes, and here’s how.
League of Legends: Wild Rift, without a doubt, tends to listen to its players. The game went through several months of tests to examine each and every aspect in the game. Developers have also added several features to ensure smooth and hassle-free gaming for its players. For instance, customizing the HUD layout, controls, and buttons is now possible. This makes it easier for players to move and use their abilities with the aid of their layout preference.
In relation to this, some players are asking and requesting the possibility of an addition of the official controller support as not everyone is comfortable with mobile gaming.
But unlike most games on the mobile platform, Wild Rift does not have it. Riot games wanted to retain the mobile experience with its touch-based gameplay by not adding an official controller suitable for League of Legends: Wild Rift.
However, the pursuit for having another method of playing the game continues due to several reasons:
Luckily, there are several methods that you may utilize in order to use a Wild Rift Controller.
An Android emulator that aims to mimic the mobile gaming experience by granting its user the ability to download and access applications that are only exclusive to mobile phones. We advise you to use BlueStacks or LDPlayer for Wild Rift.
Bluestacks is available for both Windows and macOS. Using an emulator and keyboard or controller generally increases one’s overall performance as you play in front of a larger screen, giving you a better glimpse of the whole game, better graphics, better internet connection, particularly if you’re using an ethernet cable, and no storage and memory issues.
Emulators may sound intimidating and challenging at first, but fret not as it is easy to use. To further assist you in using controllers in playing Wild Rift, take a look at our guide on how to play Wild Rift on PC.
Another good thing about using Bluestacks in playing Wild Rift PC is that it voluntarily and automatically map the keys for you. That is so you won’t have to spend more time adjusting hotkeys for each move or action.
If there is anything else that you may need to add or adjust, you may click on the Game Controls found on the sidebar. Access the Controls Editor where you can place new buttons and make adjustments on its size and position for your game.
There are problems that may arise with our first method, and we are aware of it. If you do not possess a PC, then it’s fine as we have prepared another technique for you. This time, there is no need to use another device in trying to play using Wild Rift Controller.
Mantis Buddy is a free application available on Android. This makes it possible for players to use controllers for games that do not support it. This app can be easily found on Google Play Store. It is easy to configure, safe, and secured. On top of it, you can play peacefully without worrying, as it is not bannable and legal.
We advise you to check out this guide on properly installing Mantis Buddy on your mobile phone.
After installing Mantis Buddy on your preferred device. Make adjustments and modifications to the controls by clicking on the plus sign (+). This provides you access to move each of the buttons on top of the necessary controls that govern your characters’ movement and actions, and other settings.
However, this method is less comfortable than an emulator. Moreover, it will not be possible to aim with spells unless you take the Pro option at $4, allowing you to unlock the moba keys. Note that with some controllers, the triggers do not work with Mantis.
Now, head to the Summoner’s Rift and try these out. See which technique and methods work best for you in your gaming journey. Let us know your progress upon switching to Wild Rift controllers in the comment section.

]]>League of Legends: Wild Rift has been out since 2020 and the number of players has continued to skyrocket along with its popularity due to its spellbinding gameplay and features. Compared to its original counterpart, Wild Rift offers simpler and fast-paced games. This is perfect for players who are craving fast and quick action, as teamfights can potentially start at around five minutes and each match usually lasts for 15-20 minutes.
However, not everyone can indulge in this game due to limitations. Some players cannot have the luxury of playing on a mobile phone due to incompatibility, storage or connection issues.
Luckily, there are available emulators on Windows and macOS, allowing anyone, including PC players to enjoy this game using an actual phone. Start your Wild Rift PC journey by first downloading Bluestacks.
Here are the complete and detailed steps on how to download and play Wild Rift PC using BlueStacks, an Android Emulator.
Bluestacks App Player is a program that makes using Android applications or games possible on a PC. It is a fast and reliable android emulator accessible for both Microsoft Windows and macOS. Fret not, as the game is free-of-charge, and there is absolutely no need to spend a penny in order to gain access to it. Start downloading Wild Rift PC on Bluestacks from their website.
After that, you must wait for the Android engine to install and configure on your computer.
It is important to sign in using your existing Google Account or create one if you do not have it, in order to complete the set-up process and obtain applications on the Google Play Store.
Make use of the search bar and look for League of Legends: Wild Rift. After finding the right game, simply click on “Install”. Downloading the game may take a while, depending on the speed of your connection, but be patient, as the game shouldn’t take a day to finish.
Once installed, Wild Rift PC can now be found on your home screen, waiting to be opened. Upon launching it, it is necessary to give the game a little more time to download, prepare and verify in-game resources in order to properly run the game.
Lastly, enter the Summoner’s Rift and enjoy the game. Playing Wild Rift PC on Bluestacks is not as complicated as everyone thought it would be. Most emulators including Bluestacks have configured and customized mouse and keyboard key mappings that suit your peripherals. With this, you will never have to spend most of your time, trying to assign keybinds for each button. In relation to this, you may specifically alter and modify hotkeys according to your preference.
And as you can see from the screenshot, you can also play Wild Rift with a controller support!
If you have managed to play League of Legends: Wild Rift in the past, you would not have to worry about losing your progress as you can still sign in to your account, provided that you still have your log-in credentials with you.
In League of Legends: Wild Rift, there are three choices that you may opt for. Facebook, Riot Account or Google account. Simply pick which option suits you best.
If you are a new player, you may sign in through your existing Facebook or Google account, or create a Riot account.
Suppose Bluestacks isn’t suitable for your device, laptop or PC. In that case, there are other emulators that can be put at your disposal such as the LDPlayer.
LDPlayer is a free Android emulator that you may utilize if you want to play your favorite android games, or any other applications on your PC. Aside from being free of charge, LDPlayer can be accessed and utilized without worrying about poor performance and FPS issues if you’re possessing a low-end device with low RAM, processor and storage space as it is not as demanding as the rest of the emulators.
Furthermore, players and users can make the most out of LDPlayer as it has customizable settings that you may adjust according to your preference and the game itself. Also, it offers multiple instances similar to Bluestacks, allowing you to use two or more applications simultaneously.
It does not matter whether you are fond of playing games on mobile or on PC as long as you have fun doing so. But it is rather convenient to know that several applications and programs allow us to gain access to games found on different platforms, giving us the capability to enjoy anything despite limitations. So be sure to make the most out of these and continue playing at will, as it is free and legal. Whether or not you are new to the game, you may consult and check our game and champion guides to easily get familiar and acquainted with each and every aspect of the game.
According to Bluestacks, here are the minimum system requirements.
Bluestacks also aims to emphasize that these are the requirements only to run Bluestacks. However, it will not guarantee a smooth experience with high graphics on your end. In line with this, Bluestacks also suggested system requirements to ensure better gameplay.
Wild Rift PC has an established and customized keymap configuration for the specific game. However, players may still modify existing controls according to their preferences. Look at the sidebar at the right, search for game controls, then click on the controls editor.

]]>The post Wild Rift Support Guide: How To Rank Up? appeared first on LoL Wild Rift Builds & Guides.
]]>If you feel that you’re not ranking up and getting stuck in low ELO as a Wild Rift Support, maybe you’re doing it wrong.
Here’s a beginner’s guide on how you can play better and easily rank up as a Support. This includes an introduction to the role, champions, and summoner spell you should pick. Along with positioning and other tips you should not forget when playing as a LoL Wild Rift support.
A Support in Wild Rift, alongside the Bottom Carry (also called AD Carry/ADC/ADR), is positioned at the Dragon lane of the Summoner’s Rift. They primarily assist their team with their skillsets in taking objectives.
A Support in Wild Rift, alongside the Bottom Carry (also called AD Carry/ADC/ADR), is positioned at the Dragon lane of the Summoner’s Rift. They primarily assist their team with their skillsets in taking objectives.
The support role is often misunderstood and overlooked in League of Legends: Wild Rift. Some bear that mindset that supports’ inability to deal significant damage and obtain kills means that they cannot carry the game. When in fact, supports play a pivotal role in attaining victory. Rather than taking kills, they serve as a foundation by taking care of the team, and by the proper utilization of their skillsets and executing team fights. Just like the rest of the positions in the game, it holds its own importance and purpose.
In contrast with the rest of the role, supports are not farm-dependent. Allowing the Carry to take all the gold for themselves to buy items, scale, and have the upper hand. Not least of all, they are also expected to provide and secure vision for the team.
The first thing you will have to consider is the champion you will use.
Start by learning simpler champions like Sona, Soraka and Leona while you’re making yourself acquainted with the role. Also, learn how to evaluate what your team needs and adjust accordingly. If your team does not have a tank or a bruiser at least, pick a tank support. If your team lacks crowd control, consider picking Nautilus, Leona and Morgana.
There is a myriad of options to choose from when you are playing the support role. Knowing each type of support can help you select a champion and when it’s best to use them. The role is divided into three categories according to their game style and purpose.
Tank supports are champions that possess a high amount of HP or armor. Engaging and diving into team fights are more favorable to them as they can stay, take damage from the opponents, and survive for a longer duration. This will also allow your teammates to have a space to hit and cast abilities without worrying about dying. Leona, Alistar, and Thresh are good examples of engage supports due to their gap closer ability and hard crowd control that can disable their opponents.
Enchanters perform their duty as support by providing utility; heals, shield, movement speed, attack/damage/attack speed buff, and keeping them alive as much as possible.
Supports like Karma, Lulu and Janna also have peeling abilities that would hinder bruisers and assassins from targeting your carries. Enchanters have an advantage in the early laning phase against melee as they can poke enemies through their abilities such as, Karma’s Inner Flame, Lulu’s Glitterlance, and Yuumi’s Prowling Projectile. On the contrary with the engage supports, enchanters tend to stay at the backline as they are as squishy as their bottom carry. Apart from protecting their team from opponents, they should also practice good positioning as enchanters are potential targets as well.
There are supports as well that neither take damage from the enemies nor do they heal, shield or buff their teammates. Instead, they throw their abilities toward enemies to try to harass, annoy and force them to use their Flash, Barrier and Heal. Good examples of poke supports are Lux and Brand.
If you can be creative enough, it is possible to use unorthodox champions in this role. This includes Sett, Pantheon, Gragas, Annie, Ashe, and Miss Fortune. You’ll be good if you can fulfill and help without sabotaging your team. However, these are not always advisable due to its risks, especially in higher ranks.
If you’re still undecided, you may consult our Wild Rift Tier List to determine which support champions are the strongest in Patch 3.3.
Choosing the right summoner spell in Wild Rift can be tricky, but for supports there are only 3 viable choices.
Supports commonly use Heal. As not only can it heal you and your allies, but it can also boost your movement speed. It is however, not advisable for you to take it if your carry decides to pick heal. The healing effect is reduced to half for champions recently affected by it.
Due to changes with heal, it is better for the support to equip this summoner spell instead of your carry as the effects are increased by 100% on your ally.
If you are an aggressive support craving the first blood, you may want to equip this spell. Not only does it damage enemies but it also applies 60% grievous wounds. Grievous wound reduces healing and health regeneration. It can be useful to use Ignite against champions that heal themselves and their allies like Soraka, Nami, Dr. Mundo, Yuumi, and Olaf.
Exhaust is a defensive spell as it slows enemies and reduces their damage for 2.5 seconds. With this spell, you will no longer have to be afraid of a fed Tryndamere, Khazix, or Jax chasing you.
These tips and advice that you should apply in-game from the early to the late phase when you play as a Wild Rift Support.
Familiarize yourself with every champions along with their strengths and weaknesses. Apart from knowing your own, you must also be aware of your enemies. Then, come up with ways on how to counter them. This can also enable you to read and predict their next moves. This may be difficult initially, but your knowledge will significantly increase as you play.
Players should also have the ability to assess the situation they are in before committing to a team fight. Determine when it is best to engage, and when to play passively. For example, you’re fighting against a Draven and Thresh in the early game. It’s better to play passive during this time as Draven can be really painful to play against during the early.
Avoid taking free damages and getting hit by peeling abilities like Blitzcrank’s Rocket Grab and Morgana’s Dark binding by dodging it or by sidestepping.
Also, take the champions health, stats, active spells, minion waves and the level of each champion into consideration.
Speaking of level. Do not forget to know your level 2 power spike, especially when you are using Thresh, Leona and Alistar. Level 2 power spike happens if you manage to level up first before your opponent. Putting yourself at an advantage by having more abilities and better base stats.
Proper execution is advantageous as it can grant you a kill or two, or burn their spells at least.
Lastly, you should be careful of spamming your skills and ensure that it will not hit minions, especially when you’re trying to manage and freeze the wave. The last thing you would want to do is to last hit the cannon minion and steal your carry’s gold.
One way to differentiate a good support from a bad support is by their positioning. Placing a Soraka or a Lulu at the front of the team is an example of bad positioning as they are unlikely to survive the fight due to their relatively low base hp and armor.
Instead, enchanters should position themselves at the back where they can freely support their team with heals and shields without any harm. While tanks and engage supports are expected to be at the front as getting deleted by an enemy assassin isn’t one of their problems.
As a support, you must not starve your carry with gold and steal their minions. This will only hinder them from buying items that provide them buff and power spikes, and you might eventually lose the game. Supports do not depend on farming and can only earn from the passive gold, kill participation, and objectives. Hence, it is better to prioritize gold-efficient items in the game, such as the Enchantments.
Enchantments are purchased by first buying Boots of Speed and Tier 2 boots (Boots of Swiftness, Gluttonous Greaves, Ionian Boots of Lucidity, Mercury’s Treads and Plated Steelcaps). Putting enchantments on your priority serves as a good decision as it is cheap and enchantments provide active effects that are useful during team fights. Likewise, it gives you movement speed, so you will never be late!
These are the recommended Enchantments for Supports:
It is rather a scary sight to see a dark map with no wards at all. Failing to place a ward also means you will fail to see the position of your opponents. While it is everyone’s responsibility to place a ward, always make sure that there are wards around the map and try to get rid of enemies’ vision.
At the start of the game, leave a ward inside the Red Brambleback or the Blue Sentinel pit if your jungler started on the other side to avoid getting invaded. Otherwise, just place a ward on the river to prevent early ganks.
Most importantly, secure vision on these parts of the map as it covers the objectives, river and the enemy jungle side, which will enable you to determine their position:
Lastly, do not forget to equip Control Wards as it can also reveal invisible enemies. So, be sure to take one with you while fighting against Evelynn, Teemo or Akshan.
Oracle lens is just as important as the Warding Totem. It summons a drone over your champion’s head that reveals nearby wards and traps and highlights enemies. It is part of a support’s role to provide vision and deprive opponents of information by clearing off wards. This can also be helpful in scouting areas with no vision as it can show enemies that are hiding.
While Wild Rift supports are assigned to be with the bottom carry, they must support the rest of the team too.
Roaming around the map when it is safe to leave your carry can be helpful. In the early phase of the game, you can leash your jungler by helping them take the buff for faster rotations. Also, help them in securing the scuttler throughout the whole game.
Only start roaming if your carry and your enemies have recalled back to the base. You can surprise your enemies by ganking mid. This way, you can help your teammates and it can put you at a great advantage as you can outnumber them. However, you need to be careful when roaming during times when you cannot predict or see the enemies as you may have an unfortunate encounter with them and end up dying.
Prepare to take objectives. Securing the Dragon, Rift herald and the Baron Nashor highly contributes to the team. Make sure to position yourself along with your team before the dragon spawns. This will give your enemies a hard time stealing it from you.
If you’re after the Rift herald, you may rotate towards the baron lane, especially if they’re at a disadvantage. Help your jungler in taking it while also making sure that your carry can survive on their own.
As a wild rift support, you can either provide heals and shield for your team or use crowd control abilities. Zoning the enemy jungler or carry is one of your purpose here if you’re a tank.
A good support constantly checks their minimap. This will enable you to see potential threats such as ganks and eventually avoid it. You’re more likely to see or predict the enemy’s position and movement based on their presence and even absence in the minimap. It is also useful in situations when your low-health ally jungle gets trapped in the river after encountering an enemy. With your map awareness, you will immediately notice your teammate and help them.
Lastly, If you see that enemies are missing, let the others know with a ping as they might not have noticed it.
Playing League of Legends: Wild Rift can be fun and at the same time, stressful. You may experience burnout and tilt upon losing games in a row. That alone can put you in a bad mood. This may affect your performance and decision-making skills. If this happens, try to take a break for a while and do anything that can calm your mind. Or maybe watch The Wild Rift Icons Global Championship to see how pro players win their games.
Once you’re ready, you can hop onto the Summoner Rift again and continue your journey toward becoming a Challenger!
Behind strong and fed carries are good Wild Rift supports that are continuously looking out for their team. Wild Rift is more than just killing enemies and becoming fed. It is a game that highly requires teamwork and getting rid of supports can only lead to defeat.
Now, who’s the worthy Wild Rift support champion that you’re gonna try next and why? Let us know in the comments!

]]>The Baron Lane is an isolated Island. This is where the heavyweights head toe-to-toe in a slugfest test of strength. But do not be fooled, this place is also infested by the quick and the quick-witted.
As a solo-baron laner, we are focused on 1v1s.
Sometimes epic – Fiora Vs. Camille
Irelia Vs. Riven
Garen Vs. Darius
Sometimes boring – Anyone Vs. Nasus
Sometimes downright annoying – Anyone Vs. Teemo, Vayne, or Lucian. (Freaking Ranged Baron laners, am I right?)
Baron Laners will frequently feel so far from their team and that would make it seem like they have less impact compared to other roles. Here are 5 easy tips to increase your chances of winning your lane and carrying the game.
Yes, I know. It’s fun to just simply butt heads with the enemy and see who’s tougher. But if you use your head more than your muscles, you will definitely win more fights.
TL;DR 1: If you don’t want to bother with all those points, just play a lot and do not be scared to limit test trading patterns and different matchups. It will lose you some games yes, so do at your own risk if you are playing rank games. But it will definitely make you improve, and therefore increase your rank in the long run.
Don’t die doing the same exact same thing over and over again and you’ll see yourself winning more games in the Baron lane.
Playing the Baron lane is the most straightforward way to learning how to win trades and it will transfer to other aspects of your game.
If you win trades, you will have control of the wave. DO NOT WASTE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO CONTROL IT HOW YOU SEE FIT.
Some wave management techniques:
TL;DR 2: Don’t waste your lead shoving your lane mindlessly. Assert Dominance, Control the wave, and bury your opponent.
Some Baron laners are like this:
They AFK farm all game long and don’t translate their lead into pressure for their team. For their allies, it’s like playing 4v5 all game long. This might be great for strong split pushers Fiora, Jax, and Camille. But it’s not always the case.
The first event in the Rift that you will have to ask yourself is whether you want to join the fight is when the Rift Herald and the first drake spawns.
Do you leave your lane and help your team? Or do you keep on farming and try to take the first tower? Of course, just like everything in Wild Rift, the answer is not so simple.
First, ask yourself? What kind of champion are you using?
Furthermore, you have a few caveats to consider:
Learning to check the situation in the first dragon fight will translate into a better understanding of when to split-push and when to join the team fight.
TL;DR 3: Assess game state before choosing to fight or split-push. As a general rule, do not stray too far from your team if your teleport is on cool down.
There’s this saying in low elo league:
“It’s better to have 5 champions doing the wrong thing than having 1 champion doing the right thing”.
Picking, counter picking, and banning are a big part of the Baron lane experience. It is akin to type advantages in Pokémon. Some champion plays better against another and you’ll just have that champion that you’ll never learn to have fun to play against.
But banning is not always an option in Wild Rift since only three people are given the chance to ban. So what should you do? Should you pick your hated champ and become the very thing you hate? Or should you play their counter champion that you have never played but you have watched some YouTuber say that it is the best S+ Baron laner super counter to Fiora?
The short answer is NO. You should never choose a champion just because it is listed as an OP tier in some tier list. You should never choose a champion just because your teammate insists that it is a sure win counter.
Choose three champions and learn their ins and outs and you will win all your matchups whether good or bad.
There’s a reason why one-tricks climb faster than average.
TL;DR 4: It’s better to choose a comfort champ than force another pick just because it’s a better matchup.
Let’s face it, we’re not the best in terms of mechanics. We’re no 369, Smeb, or TheShy. Maybe some of you are but you will not always be playing at 100% efficiency every single game. Some matchups we win, some we don’t.
But losing your lane is not the end of the game.
Baron lane is an extremely snowball-y lane. Once you die once, it is hard to come back unless the enemy makes a blatant mistake. And because it is so far from the other lanes and ganks are rare and far in between, it is easy to die over and over again.
If you want to make a comeback, we’ll have to back to point 1.G – Sometimes, not trading is the most optimal way to win your lane.
There are lots of other ways to help your team other than killing enemies:
TL;DR 5: Stop dying. You can win by getting carried. It’s not the end of the world if you fail to get fed.
As you have read in this article, playing as a Baron laner is not as simple as it seems. I tried to keep it as simple as possible and it still reached this length. It’s because it is not true that the Baron lane is a low-impact role.
You can definitely carry and rank up by playing as a Baron lane main. Keep in mind what you have read in this guide, win your matchups, translate your lead into objectives, and carry your team into victory!

]]>The post 5 Easy Tips to Rank Up as a Support appeared first on LoL Wild Rift Builds & Guides.
]]>As promised, we are going to do 5 tips for each role and we are going to start with the Support role!
The Support role might be the hardest role to rank up with in solo queue especially in the low elo because most people think that they have the least agency in the game. But oh how wrong are those people.
Supports are so underrated but they can impact the game as much, if not more than, other roles. Here are our 5 easy tips to help you carry and rank up as a support!
Give yourself a break from all the possible mental breakdowns from that clueless ADC with this little trick!
During the first minute, observe what your ADC is doing and how are they reacting to your positioning and pings.
For example, if you are an engage support like Blitzcrank, Leona, Alistar, or Braum, you would want to cheese a first blood or at least burn summoner spells before the first wave meets. You do this by hiding in the lane bush, right? If your ADC immediately goes to where you are, then you should have at least some confidence in your ADC. If the ADC goes AFK behind tower or shows themselves pacing back and forth near it, you might have a troublesome early game.
Keep observing your ADC during the first minute and avoid engaging before you reach level 2 if you are unsure of how your ADC will react. By doing this, you avoid losing the lane in the first minute or two. I know, a clean hook is tempting but save it for when you are absolutely sure you can do damage.
If you are an enchanter support like Nami, Lulu, Sona, Seraphine, or Janna, look at how your ADC is positioning themselves while you go to harass your enemy laners. A bad ADC will not react to your harass or worse, overextend themselves. A good ADC will form a triangle with you they can also harass the enemy or last hit while splitting the enemy duo.
If the ADC is good, you can be confident in engaging or harassing and of course, focus your mid and late game peeling (the act of protecting your teammate) for your ADC. If the ADC is bad, leave them during the mid game so they can farm alone and focus on supporting your other teammates instead.
As the game starts, you don’t always have to start in the lane, except if you want to cheese a first blood.
Rather than sitting idly while waiting for the 1st wave to crash, a better way to spend your first 20 seconds is to leash the jungler. After the buff spawns, help reduce the buff monster’s HP by attacking it and using your ability on it. After 5 seconds, walk towards the Scryer’s Bloom, the plant that explodes and gives vision. This way, you can remove wards on one side of the map to give space for your jungler to gank the mid lane in the early game.
If possible, for example, if you are using Janna, Blitzcrank, or Rakan, you can also surprise the enemy mid laner, possibly bagging an early first blood or burning their summoner spells. But do not waste more than 5 seconds in the middle lane. Go back to the Dragon lane, ASAP.
At the 1:25 timestamp, If you have lane priority (can clear waves faster than the enemy team) help your jungler secure the scuttle crab near your lane.
In the mid game, feel free to leave the ADC (especially if they are terrible) to help support either the mid laner or the jungler as they roam and siege turrets. This way, you will have more map impact instead of watching the ADC farm all game.
Sometimes, us support mains get caught up in battle and forget about our squishy carries. This is especially true with engage supports. It is important to learn how to initiate fights, control opponents, and at the same time, keep an eye on your teammates who needs protecting, especially if the enemy has an assassin who can burst down your carries.
If you are using a champion with strong initiation capabilities like Rakan, Alistar, or Malphite (terrible choice as a support, IMO), make sure that your teammates are near enough for follow-up first. It doesn’t matter if you can control 5 enemies if your teammates are not there to finish the job.
Do not waste your crowd controls in one-go if it’s not going to finish the job. Sometimes, you have to reserve your crowd control ability to stun that Katarina to avoid her from getting multiple kills and resets.
Finally, never forget about your ADC and even your other teammates. Yes, brawling it out is fun, especially if you are using a tank support. But if you are the only one left alive, it will be impossible to win the game. Sometimes, it is better to save your Alistar’s Headbutt to push away the enemy from your ADC.
Supports are gold starved. You don’t want to steal gold from your ADC either because that will delay their power spike and tilt them. Because of this, you’d want to buy gold-efficient items that can have a positive impact immediately on your team.
There is no support item more gold efficient more than a fully upgraded boots. For enchanter supports, you have three main options:
For engage and tank supports, you can also buy these options:
It can be a frustrating experience when you look at the map and see a dark map then you look at the scoreboard and see that your teammates all have wards available. But what can we do, but chat and hope that they use their wards.
But if they don’t, vision is all up to you. Make sure to ward in advance, especially before an objective (drakes, Rift Herald, Baron) spawns.
If your team got to invade the enemy jungle, make sure to place a ward. The deeper the wards, the better for your team.
After placing wards in advance, always switch to the sweeper so you can disable and remove enemy wards.
I actually start with the sweeper because dewarding is valuable in the early game. It enables your jungler to gank early and the bonus gold and experience is a lot for supports.
If you used sweepers and an enemy ward pops near your teammate, let them have the last hit because you will share on the bounty gold for the ward.
Always contest the Scryer’s Bloom, especially when taking objectives. If you can safely do so, pop the enemy’s Scryer’s Bloom so your team and your wards will be safe from detection.
If you are going to roam away from your ADC, place a ward in the enemy’s jungle near your ADC’s lane.
This is where you and your team should ward: (Made by Mystral)
Being a support main does not mean that our fate lies entirely in the hands of our teammates. We can impact the game as much as other roles can and we can carry our team to victory using our wits and strategies. Remember, do not be a backseat support and take the initiative for your continuous victory!

]]>This Season 3, Promotional Series has been removed so it will definitely be a smoother climb. No more 2-2 rank jitters and those devastatingly tilting failed promotions brought upon by Yasuo supports. But would it be an easier climb? Well, it depends. And it will mostly depend on you!
No matter what anyone says, no one affects your rank more than you! And the only surefire way to help you climb is to focus on yourself. So with that in mind, here are LoLWildRiftBuild’s 5 tips to help you rank up this upcoming season!
Focusing on only two roles will help you master the roles quickly. Heck, if it’s possible to play only one role, that is what I recommend but we don’t have that in Wild Rift so you have to have at least a secondary role where you will also spend a little time on.
After choosing your main and secondary role, practice only 3-4 champions over and over again. The reason why One-tricks climb fast is that they quickly learn the ins and outs of their champion and they know what to do against almost all matchups, including when they are countered. If you keep on using different champions, your growth as a Wild Rift player will be slower and as a result, you will rank up slower.
“Why don’t you recommend that I become a one-trick then?”
It’s because bans are coming. Your champion might be banned or the enemy team might pick it first. If that happens, you will easily become a liability to your team. If you are a Diamond 1-trick Garen and he gets banned, you won’t be able to perform at the same level as other champions if you don’t at least practice them for some games.
“But I have used this champion once and I was crushing it already, I don’t need practice!”
A singular experience does not represent your future. Do not let your biases fool you. A consistent climb requires consistent performance from you.
I will not recommend any champions or any roles. I am a firm believer that Wild Rift is heading in the right direction in terms of balancing and so, it doesn’t matter if your champion is not meta. It does not matter if your champion is trash tier. If you know the ins and outs of your champion, you can use it to carry. I encountered M6/M7 Master Yis and Sorakas who are crushing it in high diamond.
Focusing on your roles and few champions will also help you understand what you need to do in the game to carry.
A support does not carry the same way the jungler does. The same goes for any role. But if you are curious about what are the common responsibilities of each role. Read our role and class guide here.
I know, Itemizing can be a bit tough if you are new to the game. There are tons of items to choose from and it can consume a lot of precious time looking for the right item to buy while in-game. But sometimes, choosing the right items can mean the difference between your win or loss.
A classic example is buying Grievous Wounds items against champions with extreme healing like Dr. Mundo and Soraka. If you don’t know to buy Executioner’s Calling or Bramble Vest against these two, the game might be over before you know it.
Relying on preset item builds is waaaay inefficient. If you are a tank, your preset build must be spread between HP, Armor, and Magic resist. And so, what if the enemy team is all AD? You’ll be wasting precious gold buying that Force of Nature. What if the enemy Katarina is popping off hard in the early game and your first defense item is Dead Man’s Plate or worse, Randuin’s Omen.
Plus, Mid-tier items are underrated. Executioner’s Calling and Bramble Vest and Oblivion Orb like mentioned brings a lot to the table for its cheap cost of 1,000 gold. Other items like Haunting Guise which grants 2%-10% bonus damage, Spectre’s Cowl that increases health regen by 150% after taking damage, Hexdrinker which grants a mini Lifeline shield against magic damage, and Sheen that grants the basic Spellblade empowered attack passive are all efficient more-bang-for-your-buck items.
How do you get better at itemization? Simple. Read and watch. Read the item roster in-game. Watch how streamers itemize their builds. Watch how the pros build their champions. And read our item guide. Right now, we have our Defense item guide that you can read here. The Physical and Magic item guides will come later next week after our team has researched the new item’s effects.
This goes for champion abilities too. Read about them when you have free time. Yes, you’ll get familiar with them as you play but knowledge is power. Sometimes, I get surprised that even some Diamond players do not know how exactly certain champions function, especially the unpopular ones.
Most athletes have a routine. Some do a specific set of stretches while listening to their favorite music. Some likes to have time to themselves in quiet isolation as they condition their mind. Some imagine destroying their opponents in visualization practices. This extends to esports pro-players.
The problem with simply going in straight to rank is that it makes your chances exactly 50/50 for the day. Starting your gaming session with a loss is always a shaky start and you risk tilting yourself easily for the rest of your session. This happens to the best of us, this happens to me.
What I do is to eat a meal first when it’s near mealtime or treat myself to a small snack first. Afterward, I play ARAM first (RIP I know). Now I play PVP first and troll with Singed or some other champion I like to use for fun. Even if I lose, I get to have fun and I’d have a sharper mental state for some rank games.
Find your own routine. It may be as simple as some stretching or by watching some stream first to hype yourself up.
Most of us are guilty of this: Playing on auto-pilot. It’s understandable, we play to have fun and relax. But this is one of the reasons why you don’t rank up. When playing on auto-pilot. You are playing without intent. You are simply reacting to what’s happening and doing what your muscle memory tells you to do.
Having a clear intent is having a game plan.
The game plan is knowing how to out micro your opponent in the lane and out macro the enemy team in the long run.
How do you know how to out micro or outplay your opponent? Do you even need to out micro your lane opponent? How do you know what macro decisions you are going to do throughout the game? Simple: Go back to the #1 point: Mastering one role and a few champions in that role.
It is one thing to have a game plan. Next, you have to execute it properly. Grand plans are nothing if you cannot bring them to reality.
When trying to learn how to do this. It is important that you do it one step at a time. Look to improve on one aspect of your micro at a time. Once you are comfortable with your champion, look to improve your macro. This, in general, is one of the major reasons why it is easier to climb up with less mechanically intensive champions like Garen and Jinx.
I have learned this from Phroxzon of league fundamentals. It is a League PC guide but it is mostly theoretical so it can directly translate into your Wild Rift game. I highly recommend you check it out.
Yes, there is always going to be that game where one of your teammates feeds. They could be running it down in the middle lane while they are all already 2k gold behind. Some of them will flash into the enemy’s turret greeding for a kill, only to die themselves.
The thing is that, even if they die, doesn’t mean that you should too. If your support keeps on engaging when you are a late game ADC like Vayne or Ashe and you don’t have your items yet, it does not mean that you should throw yourself at the enemy as well.
You cannot control what your allies do but you can control yourself.
The great thing about being an ADC, especially in the lower elos, is that you can farm and avoid fights in the mid game if you got a bad early game due to your bad support.
The opposite also applies. If you are a support and your ADC keeps on ignoring your engages or if they are the one who keeps on diving even if you are a late game enchanter like Sona. You have the option to leave them alone the rest of the game and support your other teammates that you feel can carry the game instead.
Jungle diff. jungle diff. jungle diff.
This phrase is echoed throughout the history of League. But what it really is, is an excuse so that the player who says it removes the blame from themselves and place it into the jungle.
“But I was ganked 3 times in the past 2 minutes!!! Where is the help from my jungle!!?”
Ask yourself, how are you so easily gankable? Are you overextended? Do you keep on skirmishing even if you have no idea where the enemy jungle is? Have you burned your summoner spells unnecessarily?
Most of the time, especially in the top lane, you won’t get ganked by your jungler if you don’t manage your wave. And do not expect help if you die in 1v1s in the early game. Good junglers do not gank losing lanes.
Finally, do not expect your Amumu jungle to gank at the same pace as the enemy’s Lee Sin.
These 5 tips will only help you if you make practice them consciously and consistently. For the next following days, we are going to give 5 tips for each role, so stay tuned! ]]>The post A Beginner’s Guide To Defense Items appeared first on LoL Wild Rift Builds & Guides.
]]>Two new defense items were released this patch while a lot more tank items are improved so we decided that this might be a good time to release a tank item guide. Along with the buffs to tank items are nerfs to Mortal Reminder and Attack Speed, so we are suspecting the advent of the tank meta. Yes, tank supports are already meta for a while now but let us see if offensively built tanks would carry games this patch. It is too early into the patch to know for sure, but we will see!
In the meantime, let us talk about the new tank items so we can theorize together what would work this patch and help out the new players have an idea what to build on their champions!
Force of Nature is a new tank item on Wild Rift which replaces Adaptive Helm as the go-to item against magic resist. Its key feature is that it adds more magic resistance and movement speed the more you resist ability damage.
Stats:
Health: 350
Magic Resist: 45
Cost: 2850g
Previously, Adaptive Helm only works to counter the continuous damage of abilities. It works well against DPS abilities like Teemo’s and Aurelion Sol’s kit but it’s pretty weak against burst damage combo types like Annie, Gragas, and Fizz.
One might argue that it works too well against some champions and not much on others so Adaptive Helm is unreliable and counterintuitive as a tank item.
In comparison, Force of Nature is easier to understand. The longer the team fight goes on, the tankier you are against magic damage and the faster you get. It’s that simple.
All tanks and front liners who do not rely on healing.
If you are a high sustain champion like Dr. Mundo, Fiora, and Olaf or if your team has a healing enchanter like Sona or Soraka, getting Spirit Visage might be a better option.
Based on the item design of Force of Nature, it works well against any type of AP champions unless you are a sustain dependent champions. But it works best against champions who likes to chip on your health little by little using different abilities like Orianna, Seraphine, and Corki.
Most AP carries have a one to three item power spike which make them deadly in the mid game. Thus, acquiring Force of Nature as your second or third item is most optimal especially if the mid lane APC bags some few early kills.
Frozen Heart is the other tank item newly added in Wild Rift. It grants a huge amount of Armor and slows down the attack speed of enemies around you. Affected enemies will have a snowflake icon above their heads.
Stats:
Armor: 70
Mana: 300
Ability haste: 20
Cost: 2850g
Support tanks are the best carriers of Frozen Heart since they will want to be near allies peeling for them so the item is most efficient with them.
If you have a tank support with Frozen Heart and a fighter as a solo laner or jungler with Randuin’s Omen, the fighter will receive 27.75% less DPS (multiplicative stacking) from auto attacks because the Cold Steel passive of Randuin’s Omen will stack with Winter’s Caress.
Frozen heart works best against AD hyper carries who relies on their fast attack speed and on activating their stack based passives like Kai’Sa, Vayne, Master Yi. (Note: Master Yi’s ultimate, Highlander ignores all kinds of slows, including the attack speed slow from Frozen Heart.)
Frozen Heart does not grant HP, so it is not an efficient item to build early on. Every point of Armor and Magic resist increases your EHP by 1%, but if there is not much to increase, then there is no point to it.
Building it as a fifth or sixth item in the late game is ideal as a 15% decrease in the late game DPS of an AD hyper carry is a bigger deal in the later stages of the game.
This tank item received a rework. It’s essentially the same in the sense that it makes enemies burn around you but now it works similarly to Liandry’s Torment’s, a powerful item for AP champions. You’ll find it built in almost all matches, and that prompted Riot to nerf that item. Even after the nerf, it is still built as a staple on AP champions in most games. It’s just that good and now, Sunfire Aegis is getting that similar effect.
Stats:
Health: 500
Ability Haste: 15
Cost: 3000g
Champions with natural DPS and defenses on their kit which incentivizes staying on top of enemies are best holders of Sunfire Aegis. Among the current list of champions, these two comes out on top: Amumu and Dr. Mundo. Because it scales well now, it might be a good option for other tanks and fighters with less than ideal clear, we will see as the patch and the new season unravels.
Sunfire Cape was previously used as an aid to camp and wave clearing so it is built as a first item. Even with the buffs on its transformation into Sunfire Aegis which makes it scale well into all stages of the game, it is now an even greater first item as it is perfect for clearing camps and dealing consistent damage.
Winter’s Approach also received a major rework which makes it a viable item on crowd control heavy supports thanks to its high ability haste bonus. Now that it grants HP instead of armor, it becomes a viable first item option.
Stats:
Health: 350
Mana: 500
Ability Haste: 10
Cost: 10
Winter’s Approach is an item which fits Blitzcrank perfectly since he is a mana hungry tank support champion. With the nerf on Alistar’s HP, it MIGHT be a good item to try on him as well. But it will be hard to replace Dead Man’s Plate as his first core item as the bonus movement speed and its other passives are just too good on Alistar to pass up.
If you are planning to build Winter’s Approach, build it as the first item or at least get the Tear of the Goddess item component so you can start stacking the Mana Charge passive immediately.
Thornmail got an adjustment that allows its user to inflict Grievous Wounds on targets you immobilize. Immobilize – Inflicting crowd control which renders the target impossible to move. Includes stuns, roots, charm, knock up. Slows are not included.
In the past, an enemy you want to inflict Grievous Wounds like Dr. Mundo would just choose not to hit the wielder of Thornmail which makes it basically useless when countering him. No one would prioritize hitting the tank support at the start of the fight anyway. But thanks to the recent change, you can now force the enemy to receive the Grievous Wounds effect.
Stats:
Health: 200
Armor: 75
You should build Thornmail on tank support champions when the enemy has lots of sustain and it can also be built on tank and fighters who does not build Mortal Reminder but needs the Grievous Wounds effect like Malphite and Amumu.
Thornmail should be built when against Bloodthirster and Blade of the Ruined King users like Draven, Yasuo, Kai’Sa and against high sustain champions like Dr. Mundo, Fiora, Olaf, Soraka, and Sona.
Against auto attackers with physical vamp, Thornmail should be built as a middle item, third, fourth, or fifth but when against high sustain champions, it can be built ASAP as a first or second item.
Guardian Angel is a staple item on fighters and AD carries because of its OP passive which restores health and mana upon taking lethal damage. Good thing is that its stats and cooldowns are reduced into values which makes it inefficient to build early because it became a tiring thing to deal against in the earlier patches of Wild Rift.
Stats:
Attack Damage: 40
Armor: 40
There was a time where Guardian Angel was built as a first item before it was nerfed because players are abusing the Champion domination rune. But right now, it is inefficient to build because of its lowered stats. Personally, I only build it on fighter junglers when I am nursing a big bounty. But it is still a great item on divers like Camille, Vi, and Lee Sin who thrives on playing it risky.
Guardian Angel is also a smart pick on ADCs in the late game when the enemy has ponent burst damage assassins like Zed and Fizz who becomes a little tamer after using their ultimates.
Because of its low stats, it is now inefficient to build Guardian Angelearly in the game. If you are a jungler or a solo laner who had an amazing early game, you might want to build it as a third item in order to deny the enemy team your high bounty gold.
For ADCs, Guardian Angel is usually built as a last item.
Spirit Visage is the go-to item for tanks and fighters who have naturally high sustain in their kit or when the team has a healing enchanter.
Stats:
Health: 350
Health Regen: +100%
Magic Resist: 45
Ability Haste: 10
Spirit Visage is usually built on champions with high amounts of sustain in their kit like Dr. Mundo, Olaf, and Fiora. Fighters and tanks with no natural sustain can also build this if their support is a healing enchanter like Soraka and Sona.
Dr. Mundo needs to build Spirit Visage ASAP to dampen the effect of Grievous Wounds on him and other champions should build Spirit Visage as a third or fourth item.
Randuin’s Omen is the go-to item to build against AD hyper carries with high attack speed and critical damage output like Jinx, Ashe, Yasuo, and Master Yi.
Stats:
Health: 400
Armor: 55
Any fighter or tank can benefit from Randuin’s Omen. But because of Frozen Heart’s introduction, solo laners and Junglers like Garen, Darius, Jax and Shyvana should be the one who builds Randuin’s Omen while tank supports like Alistar and Braum should build Frozen Heart instead to benefit the whole team.
Randuin’s Omen works well against AD hyper carries who relies on Attack Speed and Critical Damage. Some of these are Jinx, Ashe, Yasuo, Master Yi, and Jhin.
AD hyper carries come online in the late game so Randuin’s Omen is best built as a fourth, fifth, or sixth item. But if the hypercarry bags a few kills, they might be a nuisance earlier than usual so the front liner might need to build it as a second or third item.
Frozen Mallet is an ambiguous item which is a mix of offense, defense, and utility. It’s the auto attack version of Rylai’s Scepter but it has been phased out in LoL PC due to its lack of usage. It might happen in Wild Rift as well.
Stats:
Health: 550
Attack Damage: 25
Melee AD carries are the usual users of this item. It works fine on Master Yi, Jax and Yasuo. There are some Teemo players who likes this item.
Frozen Mallet gives a large amount of HP but its damage output is lacking so if you want to force enemies to fight you, you must have ample amount of damage in the first place so I recommended building it as a third or fourth item.
Warmog’s Armor grants godlike out of battle regeneration and the highest amount of health stat.
Stats:
Health: 700
Health Regen: 200%
Ability Haste: 10
Warmog’s Armor is also a niche item that works on specific heroes. Most of the time, you won’t be able to go in a fight, go out for 5 seconds, and contribute again. But Garen and Dr. Mundo is an exception as going in and out of a fight is a particular part of their design. Warmog’s Armor is also great for Soraka because she uses her HP as the resource for her heals.
Warmog’s Heart has a 2,500 maximum Health requirement to activate so it’s not a good early game buy. I recommend buying it as a fourth or fifth item buy maybe third on Dr. Mundo if he is struggling against Grievous Wounds.
Sterak’s Gage is the fighter’s lifeline item. It grants the most balanced offense and defense stats out of all the defense items.
Stats:
Health: 400
Fighters who rely on auto attacks and fights head on are great users of this item. Some examples are Shyvana, Olaf, and Camille.
Sterak’s Gage’s effects scale into the late game so it is a great buy in all stages of the game. Sterak’s Gage users usually buy it as a second or third item.
Iceborn Gauntlet is the Spellblade item for tanks which grants bonus damage and an area which slows down enemies inside it.
Stats:
Armor: 50
Mana: 450
Ability Haste: 25
Iceborn Gauntlet offers a lot of utility and damage for a defensive item and its ability haste is on the higher side as well. This item is mostly built by Nasus and Ezreal but it can also be built by other tank users who wants more punch in their auto attacks.
Since Nasus and Ezreal relies on their empowered attacks, it is usually built as their first core item. On other tank champions, it does not grant HP so its better as a second or third item.
Dead Man’s Plate is another offensive tank item option as its bonus movement speed allows tanks to run down enemies.
Stats:
Health: 300
Armor: 50
Tanks and Fighters all benefits from the bonus movement speed from Dead Man’s Plate because one of the main issue with tanks is that they are kitable. This item makes it a lot easier to run towards opponents and force fights.
Support Tanks like Alistar and Braum usually builds Dead Man’s Plate as their first core item after building boots. Fighters like Garen, Darius, Jarvan IV wants to build it as a third or fourth item as they transition to tank items after building their physical items.
Abyssal Mask is a good all-around item. It grants lots of stats and it grants a passive which amplifies your ally’s magic damage output.
Stats:
Health: 300
Magic Resist: 40
Mana: 300
Ability Haste: 10
Abyssal Mask is best built on tank supports and on solo laners who mostly deal magic damage like Amumu, Malphite, and Singed.
AP carries usually have great mid games so Abyssal Mask is good as a third or fourth item.
Personally, this is my favorite tank support item that I build it even on Lulu who is an Enchanter support. It adds an additional effect to your ultimate ability, making it a lot deadlier.
Stats:
Armor: 40
Magic Resist: 40
Mana: 150
Ability Haste: 10
The tank supports Alistar, Braum, Blitzcrank, Leona, and Rakan are the usually carriers of Zeke’s Convergence. I also build it on Lulu after Ardent Censer when playing ahead to further increase the damage output of my ADC.
Zeke’s Convergence’s effects are great but it doesn’t grant HP so I build it after Dead Man’s Plate. Sometimes, I build it first on Leona since her M.O. is to pile on the early game kills.
Protector’s Vow is another tank support item which also works on enchanters since it is a great buffer against burst damage.
Stats:
Health: 350
Armor: 40
Ability Haste: 10
Tank supports and enchanter support are all great candidates for Protector’s Vow. This works well especially against burst damage champions who relies on one combo to kill the enemy like Zed or Fizz.
Protector’s Vow is built reactively to counter against burst damage champions when your ADC is struggling so its better as a second or third item as a substitute to offensive options if going on the offensive is not the ideal game plan.
